Medium Selection

Medium selection is an “art” that incorporates the selection of a medium with the lowest viscosity and highest stability for a specific separating density, separator size and type as well as the size and type of ore being treated. The figure below shows the relationship of viscosity with settling rate (which is the inverse of stability). Hence the selection of a suitable medium is a compromise between viscosity and stability as shown in the figure below. Ferroz is committed to working with end users to ensure correct medium selection.
